Stokies nicest bar? Nice is a pejorative though so maybe coolest? The sort of decor and ambience that you’d expect in Angel without the crowds or the debit on your oyster. If I were single, this would be my little date place.
Staff are cool and I LIKE the table front on the high st.
Beers are a bit pricey, especially being oppostie a morrisons, but at least they match the bar they are served in, unlike a few close venues.

If not on Ebay or Amazon, then this is where I buy my books.
Small but classy singled roomed shop run by classical music loving middle aged middle classed men. If laws and health realities allowed, I’m sure they’d all be smoking pipes!
Actually this is how I’ve always happily imagined my retirement. Maybe a similar shop in South America though..
Maybe small but they only seem to keep quality books. The junk seems to be weeded into a few bargain boxes quickly.
Also made good by the very reasonable prices and the rounded knowledge of the staff.

Qype: stoke newington book shop in London

London

Before I lived in n16 I visited this place so it must have been worth the travel.
It’s got a roomy layout and a relaxed atmosphere. Books are organised such that they are easy to find. Staff are helpful and seem to actually have a knowldege of their subject matter – unlike a certain mystery and crime shop in the west end I visited recently.
If you don’t find what you are after the staff are willing to search for it and order it in.
Even though I tend to buy my books second hand – I still visit this place just because I like the vibe and every now and then something demands to be bought.
