The venue for the Olympic Games 2016 will be chosen in Copenhagen October 2 2009.
For the second time in the history of the Olympic Games – I propose that we all get behind a bid for it to be held in Space.
It was first proposed by David R. Criswell, Ph.D, Director of the Institute for Space Systems Operations at the University of Houston, in 1988, for the games that were just held in Beijing. A modified program and transport options were arranged but could be ammended to account for new technology.
Robert Helmick, the late U.S.O.C. President said at the time “It’s a fantastic idea, very creative.”
I think we should embrace the concept in a spirit of global equaminity. Also could be half in the northern hemisphere and half in the southern so no-one would have to get up too early to watch it.
